Always Living in View of the Environment (ALIVE) is a University of Southern California student-run organization which strives to bring environmental awareness to the forefront of individuals' lives. A.L.I.V.E's mission was inspired by the efforts of Conservation International, a non-profit organization which supports the "hot spot theory" and promotes the conservation of our planet's natural resources.
Ashley Ellis and fellow USC Alumni brought the idea behind A.L.I.V.E. into action in 2006. Our mission is to break down the myth that citizens of Earth can rely on global solutions to enact change and promote conservation. Instead, we hope to inspire people to take individual responsibility for the deconstruction of nature. Rather than turning to government solutions to solve the depletion of resources and the extinction of wildlife, A.L.I.V.E. asks individuals to be aware of his or her own role in causing these circumstances.
A.L.I.V.E. challenges YOU to be aware of how you effect nature and to always live in view of the environment.

- "USC Always Living In View of the Environment, an environmental student
- group, launched a campaign in November encouraging the university to serve
- only eggs from cage-free farms. According to USC ALIVE, residence halls
- currently serve students eggs from battery-cage farms where hens are kept in
- small, unsanitary cages.
- More than 4,300 students signed the online petition, according to Connie
- Gao, a sophomore majoring in business administration and the group’s
- director of External Communications."
